Over:2E^® offers you seamless integration between TurnOver^™ Change Management and the AllFusion 2E^® development environment, with full access to TurnOver's complete suite of integrated help desk, project management, and change management and distribution capabilities.

AllFusion 2E users can checkout/check-in model objects and promote changed objects to production. Whether you're a software company with many different development and test environments to manage, or a relatively small shop, Over:2E lets you operate efficiently.

How Over:2E Manages AllFusion 2E Development

Model Integrity Using Over:2E CM API's

Using AllFusion 2E Change Management Application Program Interfaces (CM APIs), Over:2E protects the integrity of your model. Attempts to change a model access path or function will alert Over:2E to start checkout, assuring a full change audit trail on all model objects.

AllFusion 2E Change Impact Analysis

Over:2E allows AllFusion 2E users to do change impact analysis during checkout or on request. The objects in the resulting list can be checked out.

Checkout and Check-in Model Objects

You can initiate checkout from "Edit Functions" as well as from a model list. Over:2E automatically relates the model object to its corresponding iSeries or AS/400 object names and checks these out too. During checkout, reference a TurnOver project to use TurnOver's project management and help desk.

Model Object Promotion

Over:2E builds a promotion request automatically using the checkout reference. During a promotion job, Over:2E promotes both AllFusion 2E model objects and the corresponding iSeries objects. Optionally, Over:2E will copy model objects to a secure production model.

Core-Satellite Support

You can manage core and satellite models with Over:2E. Core models (i.e. for database objects) are maintained through Over:2E. TurnOver promotes changed objects and model objects to satellite models.

Fast and Fail-safe Promotion

The real strength of TurnOver and Over:2E is reliability. If your promotion job fails, TurnOver restores the previous state of the production environment, maintaining full integrity of your production environment.

Single Development Model Support

Over:2E offers you the unique opportunity to use a complete change management control system within a single AllFusion 2E model. Over:2E, using versioning, handles the different stages of model objects.

Model Object Versioning and Archiving

The Model Object Versioning feature allows AllFusion 2E users to maintain both development and production model objects within one model. Over:2E also maintains multiple archives of previous model objects.

Multiple Applications per AllFusion 2E Model

Over:2E's open architecture allows a single AllFusion 2E model to be used with multiple TurnOver application definitions.

Group Job Support

An Over:2E session uses the iSeries Group Job facility to allow users to "simultaneously" access AllFusion 2E, Over:2E and TurnOver from a single display session.

"Development Only" Model Object Support

When new model objects are created, Over:2E allows these objects to be defined as "development only" objects. These model objects are for temporary use or testing purposes and can be promoted only after being checked out accordingly.

Automatic Integrity Checks at Promotion

Before starting a promotion job, Over:2E checks the integrity of the model objects being promoted. If "level checks" exist between model objects and their corresponding iSeries objects and sources, Over:2E will signal the need to re-generate and stop the promotion.

Automatic Conversion of Model Objects

During the promotion job, Over:2E automatically converts condition values and copy model messages to the production or target environment.

Flexible Model Object Update Constraints

Over:2E features an additional two levels of integrity constraints on model object updates. At the highest level, Over:2E rejects updates to a model object if requested by a user other than the checkout user. At a lower level, Over:2E signals the checked-out user and the application administrator of another user's attempt to update the model object.

Individual Model Object Security

Any part of a AllFusion 2E model can be protected from access by assigning it to a particular application definition. Only users authorized to the application are permitted to access the associated model objects.

AllFusion 2E Compile Pre-processor Support

The AllFusion 2E compile pre-processor (YBRTPRC) can be used during promotion processing.

Complex Environment Support

Over:2E allows you to exploit all of TurnOver's application definition features, such as multiple test environments, explode libraries, and permanently locked levels (to define a vendor-supplied model.) These allow you to work on development of new releases and to support existing releases concurrently.
