New SoftMenu Release Coming This Fall!Compliance with auditing requirements, whether external or internal, has become a prevalent theme for more and more of For instance, an auditor may want to know who created a new user, or changed a masterfile option, as well as what the changes were. To that end, SoftMenu Release 6.1 adds the ability to activate auditing on a division-by-division basis. For example, you may need to audit your Production division, but not your Test division. If you activate auditing, we will capture changes to the division default settings, users, options, submenus, and system definitions. Whether or not auditing is active for a division, we will maintain a history of option assignments. Together, these functions will enable you to run reports over a specified date range to see how various SoftMenu entities have changed, who made the changes, and when the changes were made. Other new features include the ability to password protect an option and designate key, or critical, options such as the Payroll update option. To facilitate administration, you’ll also be able to sort and report on password protected and key options. Assigning authority to your secondary SoftMenu administrators is more granular in Release 6.1. Specifically, the single authority fields for working with options, users, and submenus have been split in two, with an Add setting and a Change setting for each category. Stay tuned for more details about the upcoming SoftMenu 6.1 release in the next issue of The Landing Zone.
